Birding with Jerry Hall: May brings new birds to the area

Welcome to May, a great month for birds and birding. You should be seeing new migrants this time of year, and many winter birds should be leaving. For example, the hordes of pine siskins I have been treating to expensive niger seeds have finally headed back north. And I haven't seen an American goldfinch since May began although lesser goldfinches are still around.
