EXPLORING NATURE WITH JERRY HALL: Birds need cool water in hot weather
As the weather heats up, be sure to have a good place for birds to cool down. Whether it's an elaborate in-ground pond, a standard bird bath or just a single saucer with clean water, birds will take advantage of almost any water feature.
Most birds dip in beaks and lean back to drink, but pigeons and doves drink heads down with beaks in the water. Birds also use water to bathe and keep their feathers in prime condition.
