A new PBS show is tackling long-abandoned historical mysteries with new modern technology, and is featuring a historical Austin murder in this upcoming episode. Kaiama Glover is new to PBS’ “History Detectives Special Investigations,” co-hosting with veteran detectives Tukufu Zuberi and Wes Cowan, and came to Austin last August to shoot the episode based on the Austin Servant Girl Murders of the 1880s. The mystery was one of the country’s first recorded serial killings and was left with many unanswered questions.
“I think Austin was maybe my favorite of the places we went to,” Glover said of the show. “It felt so connected to its past. All the people we talked to seemed so knowledgeable of Austin’s history and proud of Austin’s history.”
