While we’re not out of the woods, opinions about the likelihood of recession are shifting away from the doom and gloom which has been prevalent over the past year. I have always felt that the talk was overblown and that the US economy would prove to be resilient even in the face of the action the Federal Reserve has taken to slow inflation.

Almost 6 million Texans, or about 20% of the population, live in an area susceptible to flooding, according to first-of-its-kind data gathered as part of a statewide effort to harden Texas against floods and rising sea levels.
San Marcos Planning and Zoning Commission unanimously voted against the rezoning of approximately 24.48 acres located on South Old Bastrop Highway, near the intersection with Rattler Road, at their regularly scheduled meeting Thursday.

Firefighters, mermaids share knowledge with local children in July
Hays County Local Health Department (HCLHD) is hosting a back-toschool fair to encourage student vaccinations. The event takes place on Saturday, Aug. 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., just in time for the upcoming school year and it aligns with National Immunization Awareness Month.
The Texas Division of Emergency Management announced today that delivery is available for select health and medical supplies from the state’s inventory.

More than 1,100 candidates for bachelor’s, master’s, specialist and doctoral degrees are expected to cross the stage during three commencement ceremonies Aug. 5, scheduled to be held on the campus at Texas State University.
