BREAKING: San Marcos police seek missing teen
San Marcos Police are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing teenager, Cassidy Jae Castro, age 15, who was last seen in the 100 block of Autumn Cove in San Marcos about 3:45 a.m. Monday. Police are concerned about the possibility of foul play.
Castro is described as 5 feet, 3 inches tall, with brown hair and brown eyes, and 115 pounds. Her parents last spoke with her around 3 a.m. on Monday, July 21, according to Police Criminal Investigations Commander Kelly Earnest.
The teen had been using the apps Snapshot, Instagram and Twitter before her disappearance. A cousin reported that she had asked to be picked up in a Snapshot message that was received after 2:30 a.m. She told her cousin that someone was coming to get her.
The girl’s last contact with friends occurred about 4:30 a.m. Monday and since then, no additional information has been received. Interviews with the teenager’s friends have not produced any additional information.
“It is uncharacteristic of Castro to have left under these circumstances and for her not to contact family or friends,” Earnest said. “She did not have a cell phone with her and her family and friends have been on social media searching for her.”
