CR 266 protest urges tubers to respect the River

The Highway Patrol and state game wardens were standing by above the San Marcos River crossing on CR 266 (101 in Caldwell County) Saturday morning in case of trouble at a planned paddling protest.
But nothing happened. About a half-dozen protestors stood on the side of the road, some holding signs encouraging tubers passing by to “respect the river, respect each other, respect private property, don’t sink your beer cans and don’t drink the water.”
