This summer the San Marcos Public Library is hosting a series of "awesome" events to keep children creative and active. One of these events, Awesome Legos, is geared for children from ages seven to 12 to come and build things only using a random set of Legos and their imagination.
Children's Librarian Ashley Schimelman says that the goal is to bring kids into the library, to do something fun, to learn something and be creative. "It's creative, and I think it really stretches their brains to look at the blocks that they got and to figure out what they can make out of those blocks."
