Rodolfo “Rudy” Gaitan

Rodolfo 'Rudy' Gaitan

With his family surrounding him with their love and care, Rudy was given to the angels and escorted to Our Heavenly Father on Aug. 1 at the  age of 58.  Rodolfo “Rudy” Gaitan was born October 27, 1955 in San Marcos.  He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.  He is preceded in death by his loving parents: Roberto C. Sr. & Josie Gaitan and nephew: Pete Garza.

Rudy had many chapters in his young life and was well known for being straight forward and getting things done.  Rudy worked for San Marcos Air Conditioning where he was a HBAC Mechanic.  When he needed to relax, Dad would watch Nascar and basketball, especially the Los Angeles Lakers.  Rudy was a family man most of all his wife and children meant a lot to him... and with his grandchildren even more.  God graced our family with Dad.  We’re happy to have had our father, Rudy for as long as we did and we will miss him dearly, but never forgotten in our hearts.

Rudy’s memoirs will live through his loving wife of 37 years Annette Gaitan of San Marcos; sons Raymond Gaitan and wife Amy Zapata and Rudy Gaitan Jr. and wife Roxanne; brother Robert Gaitan Jr.; sisters Rosie and Natalie Gaitan, Betty Padilla and Amanda Molin; nephews Jim Medrano, Jesse Tobias, and Steve and Robert Garza; nieces Lorraine Soto, Lillian Gaitan, Melissa Machado and Lori De La Fuente; and grandchildren Emily Grace and  Audrena Natalie Gaitan, and Haley and Jaylan Olivo.

Visitation will begin on today from 3 to 7:30 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Home, 300 Cheatham St.

Recitation of Rosary will be tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Los Angeles Funeral Chapel. Mass of a Christian Burial will be Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Rev. Father Wade Russell will officiate. Internment will follow in Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale.
