Still buying tickets on the EP Titanic

In case you have been out of the country this year and missed out on one of the most inglorious launches in recent history, Houston-based corporation Electro Purification still wants to pump more than five million gallons of water each day from the Trinity Aquifer in Central Hays County.  Their contracts will pipe this water east to Buda, Goforth Water SUD and the private Anthem development near Mountain City.  Not since declaring the Titanic unsinkable has there been such an expensive and ill-conceived concept.

Martindale Cinco de Mayo was bueno

Editor,
It was indeed a delight to attend the May 2nd festivities of Cinco de Mayo here in Martindale. To perceive all the children on various floats go by with capacious smiles on their faces kind of made my day. All the participants in the parade are to be commended. Although there were minor glitches in the parade, I still bestow on them a “well done.”
I want to applaud Jane Latham for kind of “putting it all together.” And, she donated her property for the day to allow viewers to park on her property at no charge.
