The San Marcos Public Library presents The Rainbow Goblins, a favorite story which teaches children about color as well as reverence for natural beauty. Library puppet shows are just right for children ages 2 and up. Childrens librarian Ashley Schimelman and the popular library puppeteers will perform the first show on Tuesday, July 9 at 7 p.m. and three more on Wednesday, July 10 at 10 and 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Puppet shows are always tons of fun for families with little ones. SMPL also offers a summer reading program for kids and adults. Reading logs can be picked up at the library and for every log completed, theres a chance to win prizes. The last day to turn in reading logs is July 31 and winners will be notified by Aug. 2. The library is located at 625 E. Hopkins St. For more information call (512) 393-8200 or email
