It might be hard to believe, but in 65 days San Marcos opens the 2014 season against San Antonio East Central in a rematch of schools that played in the area round of the Class 5A softball playoffs.

Just like their softball counterparts did last month, the Rattlers will look to beat the Hornets and vault themselves to a memorable campaign.

Following the season opener, San Marcos will have nine more tilts with four to be played inside the new 8,000-seat stadium. Rattler fans won’t get to see as many foreign opponents during the next two years, because the size of the team’s new district only allows head coach Mark Soto to set up two non-district games.
