Memories keep Ian Rolls paddling in the Texas Water Safari

Daily Record Sports

Ian Rolls remembers a conversation he had with Gaston Jones during last year’s Texas Water Safari.

With Rolls and Jones bearing down on Seadrift and racing against one another for the men’s solo division title, Jones brought up the idea that the two of them should join a six-man unlimited boat in the future.

Well, 12 months later Rolls and Jones will be teaming up with Wade Binion, Andrew Condie, Jeff Glock and Clay Wyatt in an unlimited boat for the 52nd running of the Water Safari, which starts 9 a.m. Saturday at Spring Lake and runs down the San Marcos and Guadalupe rivers to the San Antonio Bay.
