Charlie and Donna Oglesby made a $100,000 donation to San Marcos Baptist Academy that will be used to purchase a new 44-passenger bus for the school.
The Oglesby's son, Travis, is a 2008 Academy graduate and their daughter, Jackie, will attend the Academy this school year.
“The Oglesby's gift ensures that we will have safe, reliable transportation for our students to their sporting events and other activities,” said Bobby Dupree, vice president of development for the Academy. “It's an incredible blessing when a family steps up to meet a need like this.”
San Marcos Academy is a fully accredited college preparatory school committed to educating young men and women within a nurturing community based upon Christian values.
The Academy offers a co-educational experience for both boarding and day students in the 7th through 12th grades.
Founded in 1907, the Academy celebrated its 100th anniversary last school year.
The Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and is affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT).
