ACC extends contract of Dr. Kinslow to 2011

The Austin Community College District Board of Trustees this week voted unanimously to extend the contract of Dr. Stephen B. Kinslow, ACC president and CEO, by one year to 2011. The vote follows a formal annual performance evaluation.

“Steve has done a great job at taking ACC to the next level,” Nan McRaven, ACC board chair, said.

Under Kinslow’s tenure, the college has increased enrollments to nearly 34,000 students per semester, broadened the college’s tax base through a recent Round Rock annexation, and launched College Connection enrollment services program, which earned an award from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board and has been used as a model across the nation, officials said.

Austin Community College offers access to higher education opportunities with more than 180 associate degree and technical certificate programs, university transfer, continuing education, Early College Start and adult education.
