Oct. 9 meeting slated on Gifted, Talented program in the SMCISD

— An open meeting will be held Oct. 9 for San Marcos CISD parents who are interested in information on the district's Gifted and Talented Education Program.
The overview will be presented from 6-7 p.m. in the large training room of the Lamar Annex Building, 500 West Hutchison.
According to coordinator Judy Mitchell, the meeting is for parents of children in grades K-12 who are not currently served in the Gifted and Talented program.
The agenda will include:
• The definition of Gifted and Talented
• Discussion of the nomination and selection procedures
• Testing instruments used for identification and
• Program design and services.
A translator will be available to assist with Spanish translation. The deadline for parent/family nominations is Nov. 1.
