Board and

Commission Workshop

The City Council will hold a workshop from 5 to 7 p.m. in the conference room at City Hall to discuss nominations of citizen volunteers for 27 boards and commissions for 2009.

The City Council is scheduled to make the board appointments on Dec. 16.

Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Regular Meeting

The regular City Council meeting will start at 7 p.m. in City Council Chambers. Because of the earlier workshop, no presentations of proclamations will be made at this meeting.

Interlocal Water Supply

Agreement with Kyle

The City Council will consider a water supply interconnect agreement to sell treated water to the city of Kyle.

The agreement specifies that San Marcos will provide a maximum of 560 acre feet per year of water as needed by Kyle or up to 500,000 gallons a day at a wholesale price of $2.97 per 1,000 gallons.

The water will be delivered by pipeline from the San Marcos water distribution system to a ground storage tank in Kyle.

Airport Grant Application

The City Council will consider authorizing $33,334 in 10 percent matching funds for the design and engineering of the Northside Development Pavement Project at San Marcos Municipal Airport.

The total estimated cost of the design project is $333,334, to be funded through the Texas Department of Transportation from 2008 Federal Aviation Administration funds.

Once designed, the project will build five new taxiways and a new airport entrance in a three-phased project aimed at opening development of the northside of the airport along Highway 21.

Graffiti Discussion

and Sagewood Report

Under discussion items, the City Council will consider a possible graffiti ordinance to add local rules to control graffiti, in addition to the state penal code.

The San Marcos Police Department will also present an annual report on enforcement initiatives to reduce noise and disorder in the Sagewood neighborhood.

The agendas for City Council meeting are posted a minimum of 72 hours before the meeting online at http://www.ci.san-marcos.tx.us/cityhall/cityclerk/ CouncilAgenda.html. Regular City Council meetings are aired live on Time Warner Channel 10 and Grande Channel 16 and video streamed live on the city’s Web site at www.ci.san-marcos.tx.us.
