  <description>More than 170 students from Gary Job Corps exercised their right to vote in the recent general elections.  The San Marcos League of Women Voters made presentations at the center in August that lead to the registration of about 300 students.  Students were transported to the polling station in Lockhart to cast ballots.   <description>The Exxon Mobile Educational Alliance program, through Sac-N-Pac #404, has donated $500 to The Master's School of San Marcos.  The alliance program is designed to provide retailers with an opportunity to invest in the future of their communities through educational grants to local schools.  The grant money will be used by The Master's School for purchase of equipment to be used by its sixth grade students in the research of wind speeds and wind direction on its new campus at 1664 Centerpoint Road.</description>

  <description>Dia de los Muertos was celebrated earlier this month in Kyle with a ribbon cutting marking the opening of downtown&#8217;s Old Town Gift Emporium along with a segment of streetscape on Main and Center streets.  A variety of booths were set up selling food and traditional Dia de los Muertos items.  Traditional Mariachi and Ballet Folklorico groups performed. Coach Hughes also received a proclamation declaring &#8220;Coach Jack Hughes Day&#8221; in San Marcos.
