Hernandez Elementary School 5th grader Drake Driscoll has been named the Superintendent's Student-of-the-Month for March. Dr. Patty Shafer visited with Driscoll on March 2 and explained the recognition to the young woman, saying that out of more than 7,400 students, she was being singled out for this honor. Principal Rosemary Garza nominated Driscoll saying, “Drake always comes to school with a smile on her face. She completes all her assignments, is kind to others, helps out her friends in class, and is a positive influence. She has a great attitude, is respectful, and responsible: a true Hernandez Hero.” Driscoll enjoys art, gymnastics and volleyball, but her favorite pasttime outside of school is reading in the tree house that her father built for her. When she graduates, she hopes to attend Texas State University. Her parents are Shawn and Marianne Driscoll.
