San Marcos — Mendez Elementary 5th grader James Saucedo is the San Marcos CISD Superintendent’s Student of the Month for February. Dr. Patty Shafer met with Saucedo this week to congratulate him on his achievements and to thank him for his exemplary attitude.
Sandra Reyes, Mendez principal, says that Saucedo was chosen because he is a positive role model for all the Mendez students.
She adds, “He is polite and respectful, supportive and well liked by his peers. James is eager to please and is a real gentleman who always lends a hand when he sees a need. He is a motivated scholar and always tries his best.”
Saucedo participates in UIL Math and Writing competitions. He enjoys outdoor activities, especially playing baseball and football.
When questioned by Dr. Shafer as to his plans for college and a career, Saucedo said that he wanted to attend Texas State University to become a teacher.
He is the son of James Saucedo and Priscilla Mascorro of San Marcos.
