Several members of San Marcos Masonic Lodge No. 342 met with student representatives from the San Marcos CISD elementary schools to bestow gifts of Texas flags that had flown over the state's capitol. The presentation was in honor of Texas Independence Day earlier this week. Texas Public School Week will be observed in San Marcos March 15-19. A student choir sang a medley of Texas-themed songs for an audience of students, administrators and Masons. Lodge Master Scott Johnson served as Master of Ceremonies, and was assisted in the flag presentations by Lodge member Nick Unger. Johnson told the students, "The members of the San Marcos Lodge are pleased to be able to continue in this effort to assist our public schools and maintain our long term commitment to public education in Texas."
