Hays County Sheriff Tommy Ratliff (left) has promoted Sergeant Ronnie Strain to the position of Lieutenant of Patrol. Strain began his Hays County Law Enforcement career as a patrol deputy in October 1998. In October 2001, he was promoted to sergeant in the patrol division. His most recent assignment was as an eastside patrol sergeant. In February, 2009, Strain was acknowledged as the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Outstanding Patrol Supervisor at it’s 2009 “Best of the Best” ceremonies. Strain and his wife Christine live in Wimberley with their two children, Nolan and Leslie, who are students at Wimberley High School.
