The San Marcos Lions Club donated $19,000 to five groups at its Friday meeting. Receiving donations (left to right) were Rick Bowen, representing the San Marcos Performing Arts Association and Summer in the Park; Stan Finch and John Jalufka, representing the Boy Scouts; Julie King, representing the city and the Parks and Recreation Department and Rosina Valle and Ronda Stonecipher, representing the San Marcos CISD’s Adopt-A-School program. With them is Lion Secretary Jack Fairchild.
