Cat tips police to suspect

Corpus Christi — Corpus Christi police looking for a man wanted for an alleged parole violation got an assist help from a discerning feline.



Police records show officers were searching a mobile home for 34-year-old Roger Crossland on Wednesday but couldn't find him inside. they stepped outside and peered under the trailer and saw a cat staring at the crossbeams on its bottom. The cat's gaze led them to Crossland.



He's now in Nueces County Jail charged with violating a 10-year probationary term from a 2000 theft case.
