Washington — A 20-year-old soldier from south Texas has been killed in Iraq.
The Defense Department identified the victim as Pfc. Adriana Alvarez of San Benito.
DOD says Alvarez died Wednesday in Baghdad of injuries sustained while supporting combat operations.
The Texan was assigned to the 504th Military Police Battalion, 42nd Military Police Brigade at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.
