Midland — A West Texas man arrested for secretly taping video of women in an Odessa tanning salon has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for sexually exploiting a child.
Alan Ray Steen of Monahans also must register as a sex offender and serve 10 years of supervised release after completing his prison term. U.S. District Judge Robert Junell passed sentence in Midland on Thursday.
Steen, who is 50, was initially arrested for allegedly filming an adult in April at the Odessa salon. Police found a video that depicted a teenager, which led to the federal charge.
Steen has also been indicted on state charges — improper visual recording — involving two women he allegedly filmed at the salon.
