Man dies after getting stuck in snowdrift

Lubbock — Officials say a Dimmitt man has died after being run over by his pickup as he was trying to get it out of a snowdrift over the weekend.

A Texas Department of Public Safety official tells the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal this week that 63-year-old Douglas Carl Pybus died at a Lubbock hospital Sunday.

Another man was helping Pybus pull his pickup out of a ditch after he got stuck Saturday night in the snowdrift when a DPS report says Pybus opened his door, fell out and got pinned under the vehicle, which ran over him.
