RUSTON, La. — Texas State had its work cut out for itself.
If the Bobcats wanted to reach the Western Athletic Conference Tournament final and keep their season alive, they had to win three consecutive games last Friday. Texas State put itself in that position last Wednesday after a 5-0 loss to Texas-San Antonio.
Well, the fourth-seeded Bobcats fought and fought and fought some more. By the time the fourth and final game of last Friday’s slate rolled around, Texas State found itself one game from a date with top-seeded San Jose State in the following afternoon’s championship.
