Super heroes vs. junk food

Froggy’s dream now a school landmark

You’ve got to love the water to earn the nickname “Froggy.”
So it was with Dr. S.M. Sewell, a mathematics professor at what was then Southwest Texas State Normal School (now Texas State University), who loved to take a daily dip way back in 1916.

High School Football: Rattlers getting after it

When his friends were stuck in class last Friday morning, Elias Villalobos hauled in a pass from Tucker Smith and broke across the middle of the practice field.

And while his classmates labored in calculus or United States history, Zach Pinales shed his block and met Villalobos at the 50-yard line.
Pads cracked.

Villalobos bowled over Pinales.

Football is back, at least for another week.

From 10 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. last Friday, San Marcos held its second-to-last scrimmage of the spring. It might have been early, but the Rattlers got after it — just like they had since May 3.

There is a steep learning curve for distance running

A beginning runner that wants to take up running can go about it in one of two ways: The first is to work with an experienced runner and have them guide you through the steps to become a better runner. The second way is that you can try it yourself and go through a learning curve of progress.

Success will come either way if you just stick with the effort and put in your miles on a regular basis.
