‘Bottle bill’ hearing slated Monday

Sponsored by Sen. Rodney Ellis (D-Houston), the legislation is designed to reduce litter by imposing a deposit on disposable containers. Supporters, which include the Texas Rivers Protection Association (TRPA) and other river-oriented organizations, say the law would bring jobs and reduce litter.
