Area gasoline prices up in the past week

Average retail gasoline prices in the Austin area have risen 11.9 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.51 a gallon, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 830 gas outlets.
This compares with the national average that has increased 11.9 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.68 a gallon, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Austin during the past week, prices yesterday were 4.4 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 35.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
