College Baseball: What's next for the 'Cats
An offseason isn’t easy to go through if it begins before a team wants to focus on its next season. Such was the case for Texas State after its unceremonious dismissal from the Western Athletic Conference Tournament.
“It’s not like someone came and told them: They witnessed it,” said Bobcat head coach Ty Harrington of his team needing to watch Dallas Baptist’s win over New Mexico State. “You don’t know how to respond immediately, but when the game was over, they understood what they would need to do.”
Texas State then went out and dismantled UT Arlington to wrap up its season with a 29-29 overall record. It was just the second non-winning season in Harrington’s 14 years.
“There is an expected level of success with this program and the seniors have a lot to do with that,” Harrington said. “They helped build what we have today and I am forever indebted to them.”
