College Football: Bobcat summer grind
A little Texas heat wasn’t enough to deter more than 80 Texas State players from participating in voluntary offseason conditioning drills Wednesday afternoon.
A thermometer on Jim Wacker Field inside Bobcat Stadium read 123 degrees at the height of the program designed by Texas State strength and conditioning coach Blake Cundiff and his staff. This is Cundiff’s third offseason with the Bobcats and noticed the biggest change in the group when they returned to the field this summer.
“You can’t put a finger on it, but there is a different mental make-up with these guys now,” Cundiff said. “I’ve been doing this for 22 years and I can count on one hand the number of teams I’ve seen this dedicated at this stage.”
