Former mayoral candidate arrested at P&Z meeting
The San Marcos Planning & Zoning Commission meeting took an unexpected turn Tuesday night with the arrest of 61-year-old Thomas Prentice.
Prentice, who ran unsuccessfully against Mayor Daniel Guerrero in last year’s election, was taken out in handcuffs after repeatedly disrupting the proceeding, police said.
Prentice, of 213 Trestle Tree, was charged with resisting arrest, a Class A Misdemeanor, and disrupting a meeting or procession, a Class B. As of mid-morning he had not yet been released from custody in Hays County Jail.
