Four-week project to repave San Antonio St. starts this Tuesday
City crews will repave San Antonio Street from Guadalupe Street to Harvey Street beginning July 16.
Through traffic will be detoured to MLK Drive and Nance Street on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the four-week project.
The project will begin by milling the top layer of asphalt off of the street. City crews will prepare the street for paving by cleaning, repairing isolated base failures, and adjusting utility valves and manhole covers.
After street prep, city crews will pave the street with new hot-mix asphalt concrete and restripe the street and parking spaces.
During the project, the road will remain open for business and local traffic only. Through traffic will not be permitted.
Work will occur on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Flaggers will direct traffic to business parking lots.
On-street parking will be unavailable during construction. Businesses and residents are asked to park in their private parking lots, if available.
If private parking is not available, businesses, customers, and residents are asked to park in public parking around the Square or on Guadalupe Street.
