F.W. ‘Dub’ Hendricks

F.W. "Dub" Hendricks, pastor of Community Baptist Church in San Marcos, passed from this life on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the age of 79. 
He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. Dub was born to Mark and Nessie Hendricks on Aug. 17, 1933 in Fort Cobb, Okla. He married Betty Jean Frankfather in Midland on Nov. 10, 1960. 
Dub served his country in the military (Army) for three years and fought in the Korean War. He moved to San Marcos in 1979. That same year he took the pastorate at Community Baptist Church and remained there until his death. He preached his last sermon Sunday, March 3, and led singing for the last time on Wednesday, March 7, a few hours before the Lord took him Home. He was a good and faithful servant right up to the end of his life. 
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Paul, his sisters Joyce and Gayle and his grandson Ethan.
He is survived by his devoted wife, B.J. Hendricks of San Marcos; three sons, William G. Hendricks of Abilene; Earl W. Hendricks and wife Michelle, of Mustang, Okla.; John D. Hendricks of San Antonio; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. 
He was a spiritual and physical help to more people than we will ever know. He was loved by so many.
Family will receive friends at Pennington Funeral Home from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 10 a.m. in the Pennington Memorial Chapel with Bro. Bruce Coonce, Bro. Eric Barbosa and Bro. Bob Carlock officiating. A graveside service will be held following this service at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
