HBA Benefit Home groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for Thursday
The Home Builders Association (HBA) of Greater Austin is honored to work with developer, Brookfield Residential, and home builder Pacesetter Homes, on the 2013 Benefit Home. Each year, the HBA members construct a home benefitting designated charities in the south central Texas region.
Hays County and City of San Marcos officials recently joined the sponsors for an official ground breaking at the project site, located at 406 Easton Drive in Blanco Vista (off the west side of Yarrington Road, San Marcos).
Since 1991, the Benefit Home project has donated more than $1 million to local charities. Again for 2013, the beneficiaries will be the Ronald McDonald Charities and Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas. The home will be constructed by Pacesetter Homes using labor and materials provided by member firms.
The home will be constructed in Blanco Vista, a planned community in San Marcos developed by Brookfield Residential.
Already “signed up” for contributions are Anchor Ventana, Architectural Tile & Stone, ATS Engineers, Austin Gutter King, Benjamin Moore Paints, BMC, CB Hardware, California Closets of the Texas Hill Country, Capitol City Insurance Agency, CCB Designs Custom Home Interiors, City of San Marcos, Compliance Resources Inc., By Design Custom Home Consulting, DuPure International, Ferguson Enterprises, Floor King, Lights Fantastic, McCoy’s Building Supply, MLAW, ProSource of Austin, ProTex Technologies, Skyline Floorscapes, Sun Roofing and Travis Tile Sales. Financing is provided by First Lockhart National Bank.
The construction of the Benefit Home underscores the fact that HBA builders are concerned with more than building homes for sale. Member firms work in all aspects of the region to build community. This project is further testament to the hard work and talent given to worthy causes.
