How should the city’s CDBG funds be used?

The city will hold a stakeholder workshop on Thursday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. to receive resident input on the proposed use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the 2013 program year.
The workshop is open to the public and will be held in Room 2 of the Activity Center, 501 Hopkins St.
CDBG funds are provided by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and are used for projects that benefit the city’s low- to moderate-income residents.
The workshop will provide information about project eligibility and the application process.
Those attending will have an opportunity to complete a funding use survey and to ask questions about the CDBG program.
A Spanish-speaking interpreter will be available at the workshop to assist individuals who have limited English proficiency.
Residents unable to attend the workshop may download a survey form from the city’s website by following the link: www.sanmarcostx.gov/cdbg and clicking on Citizen Comment Form. The form is available in English and Spanish.
The city is accepting grant applications through March 4. Applications are available from the Development Services-Planning office in the city of San Marcos Municipal Building, 630 E. Hopkins or may be downloaded from the city’s website at www.sanmarcostx.gov/cdbg
