John Ellen appointed deputy constable
The Hays County Commissioners Court gave its approval Tuesday to fill a vacant deputy constable position in Precinct 4 (Dripping Springs).
Constable Ron Hood introduced John Ellen, a Texas Peace Officer for more than 33 years, to the court, which voted to approve the appointment request.
Ellen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas/Odessa and a Masters in Public Administration from Sul Ross State University in Alpine. He holds certificates from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as a Mental Health Officer and Master Peace Officer, among others, and is a certified firearms training instructor.
“John has more than 6,400 hours of training and has served Texas as a peace officer for more than 33 years,” Constable Hood told the Court. “He is a welcome addition to our team here in the Dripping Springs area.”
