Julian Limon Sr.
Julian Limon Sr., a resident of San Marcos, was received in the hands of Our Heavenly Father on May 19, 2013 at the age of 82. Born March 29, 1931 in San Marcos, he was a beloved father, grand, great grand, and great great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years Lucy M. Limon; son Danny Perez; parents Felipe and Maria de Jesusa Limon; brother Geronimo Limon and sisters Apolinar Sauceda, Tomasa Cervantez and Anita Gutierrez. Julian honored his family and country serving in the U.S. Army in Germany in WW II. Note:.."he had to get permission from his parents to enlist." Our dad worked hard for 32 years for the Texas Dept. of Transportation with Road Maintenance where he retired in 1993. Julian was well known for being straight forward and getting things done. When he needed to relax, Dad loved to do the yard work around the house! “Yardening was his thing.” Dad would like to sit around and reminisce about the war, traveling around the world, when he came back, living in Chicago and coming home to Texas .... just a few things to talk about with his kids and friends. Dad was a good communicator as well as a listener. Before Mom passed last year, Dad and she would go dancing..... alot ! They were usually the first on the floor. Between that, his family, his laughter and warmth, we're happy to have had our Dad for as long as we did and we will miss him dearly, but he is not forgotten in our hearts. As there's a heaven, we're sure that our Mom is waiting for him to have that first dance once again.
Survivors are his sons George Jr., Robert and Alfredo Perez, Julian Limon Jr., and Richard Lopez; daughters Amelia and Diana Perez, both of San Marcos, Michelle Lopez of Round Rock and Ana Ortiz of Austin; sisters Mary Mercer of San Antonio and Hope Silva of Staples; 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
