New substation in Wimberley
When residents in the Wimberley area need help, it’s going to be a little bit quicker getting there.
The newly-renovated Wimberley Substation of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office is now open in the Y Center at 14306 Ranch Road 12. It shares space with Pct. 3 Commissioner Will Conley’s office and is located adjacent to the offices of Justice of the Peace Andrew Cable and Constable Darryl Ayers.
The facility replaces the former office that was located in Lyons Field in the Market Days Center.
The renovations made for better work spaces and were accomplished using labor by inmates in Hays County Jail, thereby saving taxpayer funds, officials said.
Authorities reminded residents that the substation is not a 24-hour facility. Residents will still need to call 911 or the HCSO at (512) 393-7896 in the event of an emergency.
