Now is the time to start thinking about marathons
It may seem early — and only refer to a small group of runners — but any runner thinking of entering a marathon race this fall needs to start a training program soon.
Some runners can finish with only a month or so of training, but most runners seem to need about three months of gradual increase in training to run a marathon, and enjoy the experience.
For most runners there are three levels of finishing a marathon. The first level is just to finish. The second level is to finish and still be able to talk to friends and walk around a bit. The third level is that you are still able to walk normal at work on Monday.
