Pedernales board appoints Frank Skube interim CEO

The Pedernales Electric Cooperative Board of Directors today named Frank Skube PEC’s interim Chief Executive Officer. Skube, currently the co-op’s chief financial officer, takes over for the departing RB Sloan while the cooperative’s board conducts a national search for Sloan’s permanent replacement.
“The board has certainly recognized the wonderful job Frank has done since he’s been here,” PEC Board President Kathy Scanlon said. “We plan to fully support him in this new role.”
Skube joined PEC in July 2011 after five years with Trinity Valley Electric Cooperative in Kaufman. Before that, he spent 30 years working for Dow Jones & Company, Inc. in a number of different positions.
As PEC’s CFO, Skube assumed a leadership role on the cooperative’s executive team and worked with management to develop new budget processes and implement changes in PEC’s capital credits distribution.
Skube also spearheaded a debt restructuring project that could save the cooperative more than $101 million over the next 30 years.
PEC Controller Freddy Wolff will assume duties as interim CFO. Wolff, a certified public accountant, came to PEC in October 2012 after more than six years at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas.
He has more than 20 years of general business experience, including more than 13 years of accounting management.
