San Marcos High School Choir excels

The San Marcos High School Choir Department recently took 24 soloists and two ensembles to the UIL Solo and Ensemble competition.
The results, according to Director Dawn Sheridan-Reinhuber, included 14 Division 1 (Superior) ratings and nine Division 2 (Excellent) ratings.
Nine soloists are advancing to the All-State Solo and Ensemble competition in May, as well as SMHS’s first competitive trio in more than 20 years at the state level.
 
The advancing students are:
• Soloists Konnor Callender, Chelsea Davis, Myra Ehrlich, Mercedes Gonzalez, Monet Moreau, Cassidy Wallace, Isabel White, Jon Delgado and Joey Galaviz
• Ensemble members Abby Bowers, Konnor Callender and Mercedes Gonzalez
Receiving Superior Ratings on their solos were Sara Jo Porterfield, Rainy Weems and Samira Retzer . 
Sheridan-Reinhuber says, “These kids were wonderful representatives of our school and our department.”
