SMCISD students bring home awards

A total of 72 students representing all six San Marcos CISD elementary schools competed in the annual Austin Regional Science Fair held Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Palmer Events Center. According to Gifted and Talented teacher Yvette Cantu, who serves Bowie and Travis elementary schools, there were more than 1,700 Science Fair projects from schools all over the Central Texas area. San Marcos CISD students entered 67 projects, and brought home 30 first place awards, 27 second place awards and nine third place awards.
