SMHS accounting students visit Texas State
The San Marcos High School Accounting and Business students visited Texas State University on Jan 29. Their bus was met by student reps from the Office of Community Relations who welcomed the Rattlers and gave a Higher Education Awareness presentation. Students were able to ask questions about majors, courses, and student life at the university.
Then the high school students met with Professor Roselyn E. Morris, PhD, CPA, who is with the Department of Accounting at Texas State. Professor Morris discussed the university’s accounting program and the importance of “Dress for Success in the Field of Accounting.” Before they returned to the high school, students checked out the Financial Computer Lab at the McCoy College of Business Administration. They were accompanied on the trip by Coach Cesar Calzadias.
