SMUUF currently meets at UCM-Wesley (the former St. Mark’s Episcopal Church) at 510 N. Guadalupe, but has purchased two acres of land on Craddock Avenue, where they will build their future church. “We are just beginning the process of planning for our church site and building,” Dan Gibson, Facilities and Grounds chair, said. “We’ll be constructing a ‘green’ building that is environmentally responsible,” The church is well known for its involvement in local environmental causes. “I believe that is something that draws people to us. We live our beliefs by getting out and ‘doing’ in the community,” Jeannie Lewis, Social Justice chair, said. Visit www.smuuf.org for more information.
