WaterAid joins Adopt-a-Spot program
Keep San Marcos Beautiful inducted a new community-minded organization into the city’s Adopt-a-Spot beautification program.
Texas State University’s WaterAid chapter adopted Wilderness Park. The organization cleaned the park four times in the past year, qualifying it for recognition.
“Organizations like Texas State WaterAid help the city keep our community clean and vibrant,” said Keep San Marcos Beautiful program manager Amy Kirwin. “It takes everyone’s contributions to maintain a clean and enjoyable city.”
The Keep San Marcos Beautiful Adopt-a-Spot program allows people and organizations to adopt a spot, park, a section of the river, or a section of a street.
The adoption process involves cleaning and beautifying your spot at least four times a year. One of these clean ups will be the Don’t Mess With Texas Trash-Off.
Each participant in the group will be recognized for their efforts. The program strives to raise public awareness; educate citizens about the source of debris; and generate public support for community involvement to Keep San Marcos Beautiful.
