The article "Growth smiles on Kyle" published in Tuesday's edition contained an error. The article stated that, "but Hays County overall has grown by 48.5 percent since 2000, CAPCO says, making it the fifth fastest-growing county in the region. Williamson County, at 52.6 percent, came in first."
Chris Ramser, community planner in community and economic development at CAPCO, noted the following: Hays County actually was the fifth fastest growing county in the state (not region), while Williamson County was the second since 2000."
Ramser also included the following Top 10 Fastest Growing Counties in Texas since 2000: Rockwall, 71.3 percent, Williamson, 52.6 percent, Collin, 52.5 percent, Fort Bend, 47.6 percent, Hays, 45.8 percent, Denton, 45 percent, Montgomery, 45 percent; Comal, 38.6 percent; Kaufman, 37.2 percent.
