Congrats to local veterans

By Rowe Ray
Managing Editor

Congratulations to George Kumpe Jr. for his selection as grand marshal of this year’s San Marcos Veterans Day Parade.

Congratulations also to the other local military veterans who were nominated for this special honor.

The nomination letters for each of these individuals were impressive and often quite moving.

Just as Kumpe’s story was told in a page one story by Pat Murdock in this newspaper a few days ago, there will in the next few days be stories about some of the other nominees.

Consider attending the Nov. 7 parade in downtown San Marcos and other local Veterans Day events.

They provide a great opportunity to reach out and say “Thank You” face to face. RHR
