July 2010 is bringing closure to two watershed events for the San Marcos community.
The new fire station which held its grand opening Saturday morning is really something special.
It’s state-of-the-art design and impressive footprint will allow the San Marcos Fire Department to spread its wings in terms of fire safety programs, rapid emergency response and modern training offerings.
Next Saturday’s ribbon cutting for the new Wonder World Drive extension to Ranch Road 12 will change the way much of the city’s traffic gets from here to there between the city and Wimberley.
Both projects have required hard work on the part of city staff, lots of money from various sources and a good bit of cooperation and patience on the part of local residents and motorists.
Both the new fire station and roadway extension will play important roles as San Marcos moves into the future.
Now it’s time to celebrate their completion and congratulate ourselves on two jobs well done. RHR
